Daghan (Dagi) Kesim was a professional soccer player in Europe until a knee injury cut his career short at the age of 19.  After several operations, he decided to coach soccer and attend college in the United States.

Daghan has spent the last 20+ years coaching in the U.S. and is one of the top trainers in Washington State. He has coached 10 years of high school soccer, with 3 teams making national rank. In 2006, he was voted top trainer in the state. In 2007, he was Washington State high school sports coach of the year. In 2008, he was runner up for coach of the year. Daghan has also coached 7 years of soccer at colleges and universities.

Daghan has variously held the roles of coach, trainer, head trainer, and director for several select soccer clubs, including Northwest Nationals (now Sound FC), Snohomish United, Sliver Lake SC, WA Rush, and Lakewood Legacy. In 2013, he founded Gala FC, where he remains as the club's Director.

Daghan has also coached 2 semi-pro teams, the Arlington Aviators, an indoor team, and the Snohomish County Steelheads, an outdoor team.

Sound FC Director Eugene Poublon quotes, "Dagi is one of the only coaches willing to work with inexperienced players and turn them into college players."

Portland Timbers 2 Head Coach Shannon Murray quotes, "Dagi is top level trainer."

The Seattle Times characterizes Daghan as the "most animated and passionate coach."

The Herald calls him "the coach of cinderalla story."

Matt Reinikka, a new signing on the Sounders Reserves says that "learning from such a soccer mind got me a D1 scholarship and a chance to play pro."

Laura Hernandez, another D1 player, who also played for Colombia's U21 team in the Women's World Cup, quotes, "I owe Dagi my skills and soccer knowledge."

Kevin Baron
Kevin Baron played select soccer for ESA, Evergreen, and WA Rush for eight years and was selected for Rush's nation-wide all-star team in Phoenix in 2011.

One of the strongest influences for him as a player was personal training with Dagi Kesim since the age of twelve. At Kamiak High School, he played soccer all four years, captaining the varsity team his junior and senior years.

In 2017, he returned to play for Dagi on the Snohomish County Steelheads, the local semi-pro team. This led him toward coaching at Gala FC, where discovered his passion for coaching and training the next generation of soccer.

Kevin has also attended multiple coaches' training courses taught by Daghan Kesim.

"Training under Dagi has given me a tactical sense of the game that I did not possess before. One thing that sets our club apart from others is that we are truly involved during practice. You wont see our coaches standing on the sidelines at practice in large coats and merely monitoring and barking orders. By being involved in practice, we are able to correct fundamental issues at the moment they happen. We see the mistakes and are able to immediately correct the player and have them understand the reason behind the correction. Granted, they don't always get it right at that moment.:-)  We are tough on the players because we want them to succeed. We work hard to put the players in real game situations and hold them accountable for their decisions on the field and off. Our goal is to get every player that wants to play college soccer or beyond ready for that challenge."

Darren also has a Washington State Coaching License and attends monthly coaching sessions both in class and on the field with our club director.

Her daughter joined Gala and she quickly saw the results of the exceptional training and rigorous demand for excellence take her knowledge and playing beyond the next level.  Enticed and humbled by what she saw from Daghan and his training, Courtney obtained her Washington State Coaching Licence and regularly attends Gala FC  Coaches training Sessions with Daghan.
Courtney's passion lies with training female athletes to push themselves beyond what they think is possible by working together as a team of leaders who hold each other accountable to the highest standards of training and team work on and off the field.

"Their is so much wonder and greatness inside of a team of young ladies who hold each other accountable to incredibly high standards and believe in themselves just as much as they believe in each other forging their way to the highest levels of play.
